How do I care for my new eyebrows?

  • Please see after care on page 5.

How many treatments will I require?

  • In most cases, the initial treatment followed by a retouch appointment is all that is needed until the strokes/tattoo fade over time.

  • Note: Rare cases may require a 3rd treatment. If you have large pores and oily skin directly in the brow area, there is a chance you may need a 3rd treatment in which an additional touch up fee will apply.

What can I expect when I arrive at my appointment?

  • You will be given a consent form to sign. Then you will relax in a comfortable chair while your technician outlines your new brows to a shape that you desire. After that the technician will apply an anesthetic cream to the area to minimize discomfort. Your technician will use a special tool/machine and a pigment color that matches your color preference to tattoo the design on your skin. The entire process takes about three hours from start to finish.

Will it look natural?

  • Yes, immediately after the treatment the color will appear darker for the first 7-14 days. After that, you will lose approximately 50% of color intensity.

Will I still have to fill in my brows?

  • Depends on style chosen. See brow styles above. Don’t throw away all of your brow makeup as bi annual-annual touch ups are needed to maintain shape, color and density.

What kind of pigments are used?

  • We use quality cream pigments specifically manufactured by LI pigments for implantation into human skin. Our cream pigments contain soy and isopropyl alcohol.

Who can benefit from this treatment?

Women or Men who:

  • Have over-plucked or have sparse brow hair

  • Have gaps or scars where the hair will not grow back

  • Are suffering from Alopecia (hair loss)

  • Have mostly faded color from an old eyebrow tattoo

  • Want a particular shape for their eyebrows

Contradictions:

Candidates who are interested in permanent makeup should consult their physician under the following circumstances: diabetic, are taking Accutane and blood-thinning medicines. People with skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema and/or undiagnosed rashes must be clear of these conditions in the eyebrow/lip area. Those with allergies to makeup, colors or black hair dye will need to take a patch test 5-7 days prior. If you have scarring, lacerations, hyper/hypo-pigment, experience keloid scarring or have had prior permanent work on the area to be tattooed please inquire for a consult prior to your appointment. You must have written consent from your physician if you are taking Coumadin or Heparin.

Is it safe?

  • Absolutely. Sterilized, disposable needles and supplies are used during the process.

Is this the same as an eyebrow tattoo?

  • Yes, any form of implanting pigment beneath the skin is considered a form of tattooing. Microblading is considered semi-permanent due to the depth in which pigment is implanted.

Healing Agenda

Day 1-3 Your eyebrows are about 15-20% darker then what they will heal to be. They will also appear thicker than what we drew on. This is due to oxidation and swelling. Don't be concerned with the darker, thicker appearance, this is part of the healing process. You may also have redness that will subside within the first 48 hours. Start ointment after 24 hours to 48 hours. Don't forget to blot off excess fluids.

Day 4 The peeling begins. The dark outer color will start peeling off revealing the softer lighter color. Keep moist but don't over do it.

Day 5-8 Dark outer color finishes peeling off. The color is lighter and softer, and the brows themselves are a little thinner. The color may have a grayish or ashy tone for a few days until the color clarifies. It could appear that you are missing color and have light areas at this time due to layers of dry skin over the new pigment. Give your brows 3 full weeks to heal and for color to fully bloom. Use ointment no longer than 10 days.

What is normal?

  • Mild swelling, itching, light scabbing, light bruising, and dry tightness. Ice packs provide a nice relief for swelling/bruising. Aftercare ointments work well for scabbing and tightness.

  • Too dark and a slightly uneven appearance. After 2-7 days the darkness will fade, and once any swelling dissipates unevenness usually disappears. If it is too dark or still a bit uneven after 4 weeks, then we will make adjustments during the touch up appointment.

  • Color change or color loss. As the procedure area heals, the color will lighten and sometimes seems to disappear in places. This can all be addressed during the touch up appointment, which is why touch up is necessary. The procedure area has to heal completely before we can address any concerns. Healing takes about 4 weeks

  • Need a touch up months later. A touch up may be needed once or twice a year after the first touch up procedure, depending on your skin, medications, and sun exposure. We recommend the first touch up 30 days after the first session; which is included in today’s price. Thereafter, every six month to one year to keep them looking fresh and beautiful. Future touch up sessions will cost the current touch up rate at the time of your service. If most of the hair strokes have faded, the entire procedure will need to be repeated. An email photo consultation may be necessary to determine if a touch up is needed, or a repeat of the entire procedure.
